Irina A. Beliavskaia – one of the most respectable specialists on American History in Russia, author of the monographs on the Progressive Era and recently published biography of Robert M. La Follete. Answering to several questions dedicated to her 80’s birthday I.A. Beliavskaia recalls main steps of her education and career as a historian. Tumultuous years of World War II, Stalin’s repressions, and Cold War and their influence on the development of the historians’ community in Russia are revealed in the interview.
