Аннотация

The work gives a brief review of the main discoveries made by first Russian explorers of the Alaska wildlife. New species of birds and mammals described during the period of Russian America are listed, some of them being in danger now. Ecological and nature preservation aspects of broad range of the Russian-American company activities, fur trade, in particular, are considered. The significance of historical-biological cooperation in investigation long-term effective use of natural recourses also discussed.
