Аннотация

The main goal of this article is to study the attitude of the leading American journal “The North American Review” toward Continental Europeans’, perceptions of the United States in the first half of the 19th century. These people wrote books about their travels on the other side of Atlantic and years of residence there. Some publications were very popular in their own countries and abroad and became important sources of the different aspects of the U.S. history and European public opinion as well.
