This article is dedicated to the essence and the historical stages of the Canadian conservatism at the second half of the twentieth century and the beginning of the present. Therefore, the author draws attention to the three particular issues of the Conservative agenda under John Diefenbaker, Joe Clark, Brian Mulroney and Steven Harper: the outstanding political campaigns of the party before the general elections of this period as well as the new methods of the establishing of the relationship with the Canadian electorate; the conservative politics with regard to the current needs of Quebec distinct society; the constitutional reforms, and, especially, the reform of the Senate.
