Американский период в творчестве Жака Маритена (размышления французского философа о США середины ХХ в.)
Аннотация
Brings the light to the essential stages of the scholar life of catholic thinker — almost unknown in Russia and widely acknowledged in the West especially in the years of his emigration to USA. The main sources are monographs, articles, speeches and radio-messages written by Maritain at that periodes. Some of Maritain's forecasts on the role of America in Post-War history and his belief in the future of Russia among other free nations provide insights not only into his original perceptions of the US, in virtue of his seventeen years of life, teaching and lecturing far and wide America but into a deep American influence on Maritain's works, especially on his "practical philosophy". Contains a brief outline of French intellectuals' lasting interest in America.
