The article focuses on the efforts of Francisco de Miranda (1750-1816), the prominent Venezuelan fighter for the independence of Spanish America who tried to win the support of the famous North American Revolutionary leaders. The main subjects of the study are the meetings, the conversations and the correspondence between the South American and George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Samuel and John Adams, Benjamin Rush, Henry Knox during Miranda’s two visits to the United States in 1783–1784 and 1805–1806, and his living many years in England.
