Аннотация
The article is devoted to research attempts of Russians to discover the gold deposits in Alaska before this territory was sold to the USA in 1867. Based mostly on unpublished archival documents, the article touches upon several discussing problems, i.e. the beginning of interest the Russian-American Company to mine of gold, the role of «golden factor» in the sale of Alaska, and etc.
