Аннотация

The essential aim of this article consist in giving to understand the vital importance of the mutual perception in the history of bilateral relations between Canada and Russia, most often understimated in the traditional historiography. The analysis of the official declarations and individual opinions, testimonies of Russian visitors and consuls of their contacts with Canadian authorities, the judgements of official and individual Canadians concerning Russia – all this take the possibility to bring to light the immediate characteristics and the importance of this period of early bilateral links between Canada and Russia for the true explication of the contemporary relations.
