This article is about prominent American woman – Mercy Otis Warren (1728–1814). She was known as a literary figure in the days of American Revolution, especially esteemed as a political satirist and a historian of Revolutionary era. Her plays Adulter, The Group, The Blockheads, The Motley Assembly, which were published anonymously, had great success. Her History is interesting both for the expert knowledge it reveals of public affairs and for its lively and penetrating commentary upon the leading figures of the day.
