История экипажа Эдварда Йорка: участники рейда Дулиттла в СССР
Аннотация
In 1942, 16 American planes bombed Tokyo. After the raid, bomber No.8 landed near Vladivostok, and its crew under the command of Capt. Edward York was interned in the USSR. This article discusses various theories regarding the circumstances that caused the raiders to land on the Soviet territory. The author examines the aviators’ life in the USSR and the opinions that they formed about the Soviet regime. An overview of some of the negotiations between the Soviet and the American officials regarding the fate of the raiders is also included in this study.
