The article is devoted to one of the most successful periods of the political career of the 31st president of the United States of America Herbert Clark Hoover, to his service in administrations of Warren Harding (1921-1923) and Calvin Coolidge (1923-1928). The author underlines main directions of Hoover’s activities as the Secretary of Commerce, and reveals chief intentions of Hoover’s domestic and foreign policy. This article also shows how Hoover’s business experience influenced his public service.
