Аннотация
The article is a result of long-lasting collaboration between historians: A.N. Ermolaev – from Kemerovo, and Alexander Iu. Petrov, from Moscow. It probes the research of the new documents in Siberian archives of the cities of Irkutsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, and other places. The article represents one of the very first attempts of shading light to the hitherto unknown materials: the activity of the US citizens in mining, railroad construction, whale hunting, etc. The research on this subject is to be continued.
