Аннотация

The author’s aim was to create the psychological portrait of the senator Robert M. La Follette and to reveal the formation of his dynamic character and views. So only main events and data of his life are mentioned to trace and show his evolution from the regular Republicanism while a young congressman to the organization and leadership of the Progressive opposition on the floor of the U.S. Senate. The logic of history made him the national Progressive leader. La Follette’s fight against monopoly and corruption, war and militarism and for the democratic government and people’s rights did prove it.
