Североамериканская республика после Версальского мира 1783 года глазами очевидца
Аннотация
The article deals with the perceptions on the newly emerged independent United States of America by prominent Spanish-American military and political figure — Francisco de Miranda. His visit to the country, which was the symbol of successful liberation from colonial oppressions for broadminded contemporaries, was inspired by his desire to learn more about the USA. The diaries of Miranda give new insights for the understanding of the peculiarities of social and political life of early national period. Miranda, for example, met Samuel Adams and discussed with him the imperfections of the Constitution of Massachusetts. Though many features of American reality attracted Miranda’s attention, the main point of his discussions with George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and others was the revolutionary experience of the War for Independence.
