Аннотация
Since the early 1970s women’s history has become the most widely growing subdiscipline of American historical science. In this essay Shashina explores the factors which stimulated the development of women’s history in the United States. It is emphasized that the American feminists of the 1960s and a new generation of scholars played an important role in this process. The author tries to trace the main trends of women’s history, characterizing the periods in the development of this field.
