Shatsillo V.K. Germans and the image of the American enemy: The World War I was one the most important events in the history of our century. When the USA entered the was in april 1917 on Antanta side, the national public opinion was very hostile to Germans and reich. The same process took place also and in Germany. In this article the author describes how and when the Americans in the eyers of German citizens transformed from the very friendly nation into the mortal enemy.
