The article is dedicated to Frederick Law Olmsted, a famous American of 19th century. He was a farmer and a traveler, a doctor and a journalist and one of the first of landscape architects. The author gives the view of his achievements, analyzes his ideas and shows the meaning of his well-known books about the South for the formation of the public opinion in the North of the Antebellum Period.
