Будни великих строек: что мешало американским инженерам работать в СССР
Аннотация
The huge automobile plant in Nizhny Novgorod with the capacity to produce up to 140 000 cars and trucks a year, was a splendid deal for the Soviet Union. In May 31, 1929 the Soviet state concluded the technical assistance agreement with the Ford Motor Company to provide for technological means to build its A and AA-type vehicles. The Austin Company of Cleveland, Ohio, one of the most successful plant designers in the United States, was contracted by the Soviets to make plans of the plant and workers’ city, and supervise the construction works. The Russian archival documents published here for the first time, reveal enormous problems met by the Austin team in the Soviet Union.
