Аннотация

The main objective of this article consists in the historical importance of economic relations between Canada and Russia. Until now this area of our common history was researched insufficiently both in Canadian, and in Russian historiography. The analysis of official documents and individual opinions, certificates of travellers and Russian consuls in Canada, their contacts to the Canadian authorities, judgements of civil servants and the simple Canadians who are were interested in economic conditions in various regions of Russia, and opportunities of capital investment of the Canadian companies in some areas of the Russian economy – those are the basic problems mentioned in present article. Their decision will allow finding out specific characteristics and the importance of an economic component of mutual relations between our countries, necessary for development of the sensible approach to similar relations in the beginning of XXI century.
