American Yearbook is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published under the auspices of the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It brings together significant Russian and international research on the history, politics, culture, and historiography of the United States and Canada.
Aims and scope
The journal provides a forum for research on North America from the colonial period to the present. Its scope includes United States and Canadian history; political and social development; foreign policy and international relations; culture and intellectual history; historiography; Russian-American and Russian-Canadian relations; and interdisciplinary approaches to North American studies.
American Yearbook promotes the exchange of scholarly information, supports dialogue between Russian and international researchers, and encourages new methods and research practices. It is the only publication within the Russian Academy of Sciences devoted entirely to the history, political life, and cultural development of North America.
Readership and published content
The publication is intended for researchers, university faculty, postgraduate and undergraduate students, librarians, and other professional readers interested in American and Canadian studies. It publishes original research articles, historiographical and bibliographical surveys, review essays, book reviews, scholarly documents, conference proceedings, and materials from thematic round tables.
